CHILDREN AND FAMILY MINISTRY

For more information and updates on children’s activities at Central, visit our Central UMC Children’s page on Facebook and send us a friend request!

If you have any questions, please contact Central's Director of Children's Ministry,

Sabrina Williams, at sabrina@cumcmdn.org.

BACKPACK BUDDIES

During the 2019-20 school year, Central will once again sponsor students in the Backpack Buddies program by providing backpacks filled with nutritious, kid-friendly groceries for the weekend. If you would like to be a part of this on-going mission, a grocery list of suitable food/snack items can be found near the Backpack Buddies drop-off in The Crossing (located on the 2nd floor).  If you would prefer to make a monetary donation, we will gladly purchase the grocery items for you.  A container for donations will be near the drop-off.

CENTRAL'S CASSEROLE MINISTRY

Use your cooking skills to benefit members of CUMC through our NEW casserole ministry.  This is an ongoing ministry and an opportunity to share God’s love and comfort through food.  The donated food items will go to members who have had an illness, injury, death or birth in the family, or simply fallen on tough times.

Submission Instructions:

  • Casseroles should arrive already frozen in a DISPOSABLE container such as an aluminum pan, as these pans will not be returned.
  • Please prepare items that will freeze well.
  • Casseroles should be wrapped securely in aluminum foil before the top is secured in place.
  • Please make sure your items are clearly labeled.
  • Labels for these items must include:                                                           1) Date prepared  2) Name of item  3) Cooking instructions
  • The drop-off freezer is in the kitchen directly across from the fellowship hall and is located directly behind the serving lines in the kitchen.  We will have an additional freezer located in the gym dedicated solely for the use of our casserole ministry.
  • Place the LABELED item in the freezer and ensure the freezer door is tightly shut.

We will have labels available for you located next to the freezer.  It is extremely important that all items placed in the freezer are labeled.

Multiple items are welcomed and strongly encouraged.  We would love for you to send as many items as possible.

** You do not have to be a member of Central to submit items. **

Please contact Katie McDaniel at 601.214.4113 or katiesmcdaniel@gmail.com if you need assistance.
