ELEMENTARY

Central's Elementary Program includes 1st-5th grades on Sunday mornings and Kindergarten-5th grades on Sunday and Wednesday evenings.  We use an interactive curriculum during each gathering to engage the minds and impress the hearts of our children.

SUNDAY SCHOOL

Elementary students in 1st-5th grade meet in The Crosswalk on the 3rd Floor.  The Crosswalk is a Workshop Rotation Model Sunday School Program based on the different learning styles of children.  Students learn about God's love for them and how it applies to their daily life. This is done interactively through a seven-week rotation in our art, drama, cinema, computer & science, and cooking labs.  Children gather between 9:30 and 9:45 in the Central Park area for group time before dispersing to classrooms.

Our desire is to hide God's word in the hearts of these children; thus, we place a strong emphasis on Bible knowledge and scripture memorization. Hebrews 4:12 teaches that “the word of God is living and active; sharper than any double-edged sword”.  Each week in Sunday School, our students have the chance to earn points that they can later redeem for items in our Sword Store. The store will be open on the Celebration Sunday that ends each of our Rotation Units.

SUNDAY NIGHTS

On Sunday nights during the fall and spring, our elementary students participate in The Zone (K-3rd grades) and Club 412 (4th-5th grades). Dinner is served by parents from 5:30-6:00 PM and lessons are from 6:00-7:00 PM.

THE ZONE

The Zone is for children K-3rd grades. Children are divided by K-1st grades and 2nd-3rd grades to participate in Bible Skills and Drills, and includes story time, computer, art, and recreation. Each lesson has a scripture passage for students to learn.  At the end of each semester, students will have had the opportunity to complete a scripture memorization chart and qualify for an award trip. The Zone begins at 5:30 with dinner in the 11th Street Gym kitchen. From 6:00-7:00 PM, children meet in break-out groups.

CLUB 412

Club 412 was created for our 4th-5th grade students.  It is grounded in the scripture I Timothy 4:12:  “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, and in purity".  Lessons are centered on scripture and life application issues affecting preteens. This group meets in a space designed for them off of the 11th Street Gym area. Following their lesson and small group time, they have recreation in the 11th Street Gym. Students will also have an opportunity to learn scripture and qualify for an award trip at the end of the semester. Club 412 meets on the stage at 5:30 PM for dinner in Cafe 412.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT LIVE

Wednesday Night Live begins with a family meal at 5:00 PM in the Fellowship Hall. Children in K-5th grades gather at 6:00 PM in Central Park for a large group lesson and then move into smaller groups until 7:00 PM. Children are able to spend time working on their Bible memorization charts on Wednesday nights.  Wednesday Night Live meets during the school year.
