About OUr teacher

Rev. Tommy Artmann

Possessing a deep love for Jesus and desire to know and teach the Bible, Rev. Tommy Artmann has served in ministry for 46 years. He began his ministry as a youth pastor for 18 years and developed an intense desire to clearly communicate the scripture in a way that applies to daily life.

He has also served as a singles pastor, a small town pastor, and as the pastor of large growing churches—always with a desire to make disciples who will be equipped to share the Gospel with others.

Tommy served FUMC in Clinton (twice), Christ UMC in Jackson, Magee FUMC, and Heritage UMC in Hattiesburg. Recently retired, he currently attends Christ Church UMC in Birmingham, and serves as an Alumni Ambassador for Asbury Seminary.

He earned a BA (Cum Laude) from Millsaps College, a Masters of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary, and a Doctor of Ministry in Biblical Preaching and Leadership from the highly selective Beeson Pastors Program at Asbury Seminary.

He is currently trying to learn to be a “do it yourself handyman” with varying degrees of success. His greatest joys come from family and friends. He and his wife Paula have three grown children and four “blessed grandchildren.”
