Central will be holding our Family Legacy Retreat, March 31-April 2. This weekend, at Timber Creek Camp in Pulaski, is a unique retreat designed for the whole family regardless of age. Parents and children come together to experience this weekend consisting of group activities and breakout sessions. Older children are divided into age groups while children one to four years of age are provided with nursery and separate activities. Each family stays together in a private cabin which offers heat/AC, single and full-size beds. Because we so strongly believe in this time of learning, coming together and worship, this weekend is provided at the cost of $35 per family member, with Central paying the rest of the cost. For this reason, registration and payment must be made by February 28, 2017. Registration is non-refundable. Scholarships are available by contacting Sabrina Williams.

End-of-the-year contribution statements have been sent via email to those for whom we

have a valid email address and mailed to those who made that request or those without a

valid email address.

If you have any questions concerning your statement, please contact Jan Hitt in the church office.

We would like to welcome to the Central Staff, Joyce Barber, as our morning receptionist.

Joyce is a member here at Central and will be a familiar face to many of you.

REMINDER: Please do not block or park in the driveway on 11th Street next to the gym.

In order to be good stewards in preparing meals, we would greatly appreciate

your making reservations for our Wednesday night and XYZ programs. If you

call in advance to cancel.

February 26, 2017

10:30 a.m. - Wesley Room

The Pastors and staff of Central offer Coffee with the Pastors to give inquirers the opportunity to come together in a small group setting and learn more about Central UMC, its mission, Methodism, and membership expectations. Also, it is a time when we can learn more about you and your family. For those that are attending, there is no obligation to make a commitment, however, you may join at the conclusion of the "coffee" and be baptized if needed.

On March 1, we will mark the beginning of the Lenten Season on Ash Wednesday. Several opportunities are

available throughout this day to prepare for this season of Lent.

From 6-8 a.m., there will be a drive-through Imposition of Ashes

and Holy Communion in the Parking Garage.

From 11 a.m.-1 p.m., there will be a self-guided prayer walk in the Crossing

and the Imposition of Ashes and Holy Communion.

From 5:30-7 p.m, we will experience our annual Prayer Walk, beginning in the Sanctuary.

This service is a sacred walk in SILENCE. There are seven stations of prayer within the church, and

each of the stations are to help you connect with God, as we enter the

Lenten Season, focusing on God’s ultimate gift to us.

The walk is designed for children elementary and up. A nursery

will be available on this evening for younger children.

Please note that there will be no supper

or other Midweek Forge activities

this evening.

has given the Mississippi Conference a  challenge:to help stop malaria outbreaks

by raising money for malaria bed nets. Central has been challenged to fund 1,000 nets by

Currently, we have funded 100 nets! Help us buy 900 more by June 1!

How you can help:  Make a donation  online or in the offering with “No More Malaria” written on the memo line.
