On Sundays since January, I have shared the” IronMaker” theme for this year. I have told the story of how this idea was placed on my heart in the deserts of the Middle East during the  fall of 2015. However, as I reflect upon the completion of the first half of this IronMaker year here at Central, I realize that the desert was just my moment in the forge where God was beginning to sharpen me.

A forge is the oven that an iron maker uses to heat up the iron ore, so that it can be molded into something worthy. The forge prepares the ore for the fight in which it will be engaged. This image of the iron maker’s forge will be our guide for this fall. I am asking you to commit to being a part of the Central Forge this fall.

Let us continue to sharpen our blades  through the Holy Scriptures and through our relationships with one another. More importantly, let us prepare for the battle that only true IronMakers can fight and win as we work together in our community.

Faithfully, John Branning

A NOTE ON STEWARDSHIP

As we enter the month of June, I want to thank every person who has

contributed to the ministry of Central through his/her financial support. Please

remember, we have six months to go. Generally, giving declines in the summer

months as people are traveling. However, don’t let this be a reason for your not

giving to the work of our community of faith. As the Lead Pastor of Central,

I see all of the good we are able to do in Meridian and around the world when

we allow our generosity to guide us. As a fellow Iron Maker, let me challenge

you to discipline yourself by giving faithfully to the Kingdom of God.
